Having watched “Trial by Fire” (the US Navy’s USS Forrestal fire training film) probably a hundred times and knowing John McCain was in the middle of that conflagration and barely escaped from his A-4….surviving that and then his subsequent capture after being shot down. Another “Trial by Fire”…
His decision to stay at the Hanoi Hilton despite being offered a ticket out…and enduring the torture over those years along with the other POW’s displays his ability to stick it out through tough times and to never give up and to never take quarter. Some have an issue with his temper, I do not…we need a President that will get mad and take action or to tell someone to go fly a kite if need be.
He has a son at the Naval Academy and another serving in Iraq in the Marines. Any other candidate can say they have a “dog in the fight” so to speak?
I am not saying that I am going to vote for him. I am also not saying that I am not going to vote for him. I am just saying that neither Obama or Clinton are bringing anything “real” to the race for the Presidency. They aren’t common people…what do they have in common with me?
I have lots in common with John.
