Chunkin’ tha Deuce…
After 16 years with HP (formerly Compaq), Ms. Rooster is ‘chunkin’ tha deuce’…Audi 5000…Makin’ like a Banana and split’n….all of that…just walking out the door. I bet that is a good feeling. Her last day coincides with the last day of school, so in effect, she is trading working with a bunch of clowns (kidding) to clowning with a bunch of work. Trading office cubes for range cubes and the daily grind for a grinding day.
The boys are as happy as they can be about this. Ryan will be in Texas for a few weeks before he starts at FSU in the Fall. Zach won’t make it this summer as he has taken a job as a counselor for a summer camp, which will be good experience for him as he is well on his way to being a teacher. Nisha has already lined Jake up for a weeklong football camp hosted by Brad Franchione and a weekend Longhorn camp at a ranch in Midlothian. I did mention to her that there are plenty of fences to clear and grapevines to pull down out of the pecan trees in the back pasture. I still haven’t figured out what she was laughing at after I said it. It will be great to get all of those cleared this summer, I think I will go today and buy her and the boys some really nice leather gloves.
It will be a new experience but rewarding experience for her and all of us as well. Life has been so hurried and rushed, sometimes it is hard to tell what direction we are all heading at any given time. We have made some really great friends in Brenham and they are all tremendously supportive and can’t wait to involve us all in activities this summer.
That’s about it for the happs around Cottonwood. HP lost an employee but we gained a Farm Marm…their loss, our gain.
The deuce is chunked best cold. I expected my ‘buddy’ to take care of ‘his’ people better. Goes to show, in the word of Fox, trust no one.
